Terraefuoco roofs are made of T&F slabs which are covered with cellular concrete (10cm thickness) with a slope to serve as a thermal insulation before a water proof membrane is installed. All (floor slabs and roof) at 30cm which makes it soundproof to rain and well insulated keeping rooms cooler.

Foundation & External Waterproofing

The traditional foundations done in Ghana, where the ground is dug and blocks laid with reinforcement done only for pillars and not the whole foundation. This is ‘no real foundation’ and as a result cracks can and would develop from the blocks in the ground up. Consequently, water can seep through the cracks to the built structure especially in water logged areas.

In addition, our foundations are built on well-compacted soil and beams of approximately 80×50 cm concrete C35 with reinforced irons (High Tensile Steel Reinforcing Rods) making it more solid and impermeable to water thus resulting in real, long-lasting solid foundations.

Terraefuoco waterproof system is done with Bitumen and waterproof membrane. This is done all round the foundation

Structure & Floor Slabs

WALLS – CELLULAR CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY

  • Firm and Solid- our 8’’ thick walls are entirely cellular concrete casted (2’’ thicker than the usual 6’’ blocks used).
  • Sound proof- It does not transmit noise.
    Thermal insulation- our walls repel heat from the outside (sun) and vice versa and keeping rooms cooler all year round.
  • Water proof- no water absorption due to micro bubbles pumped and incorporated into cellular concrete. The air bubbles are made of animal protein, GREEN for environment.

Our structures are made of the pillars and beams of concrete. The pillars are inserted at 5 to 6 meter intervals. These are then joined together by a back-sealed mesh that connects one pillar to another such that a kind of monolithic plane is formed to prevent cracks or any structural faults.

Our floors are made of beams and hollow blocks which absorb noise or sounds. It is faster to complete, once the blocks and traverses are placed the floor is casted.  Thickness of 30cm (twice that of the traditional which is 15cm).
